30 for 30: Day 1

Well, here we are on the first day of the 30 for 30 challenge! After this I'll probably be posting my outfits every two or three days. At first, I was a bit concerned that posting about fashion isn't what my blog is all about. But for me, fashion is also about thrifting, sewing, and getting creative in budget-friendly ways. I'm certain that nearly all of my 30 outfits will include at least one thrifted piece, and often an item or accessory that's sewn or handmade.
So, on the first day of the challenge, nobody actually saw my outfit. As I type this, we're in the midst of quite a blizzard. I did venture out today, but I didn't take my coat off till I came home. I figured this would happen, so I kept the outfit pretty simple today. Also, if you've been following me for a while, you'll notice that this is the first time my face has appeared on the blog. It's also my first-ever kitchen photo shoot.

I'm wearing:
Striped top: Thrifted and Refit  ($1)
Skinny Jeans: JC Penney ($16.00)
Black boots: Sears ($29)
I'm also wearing dangly black and silver earrings: Forever 21 ($1.50)

Are you doing the challenge? Leave me a comment and let me know!

UPDATE: Kendi posted the list of the challenge remixers this time around. It's huge. Check it out here!
