I bought this dress for 75 cents at St. Vinnies over a year ago. Once I got it home, I realized that it was too short, too tight, and mostly unwearable. I've been deciding what I want to do with it and decided just to make it into an embellished tank.
I chopped off everything below the side zipper- that was the problem area, as the dress was just too tight across the hips. I finished off the bottom by adding a stretchy knit band, and used the leftover of both materials to make some rosettes. It's just a pin, so I can take it off for easy washing.
That's it! Another easy refashion into a much more wearable garment- my favorite kind of project!
I love the flour, adn the color is great, especially with spring right around the corner! thanks for sharing.

ReplyDeleteThank you for linking up to Sew Woodsy! I would have never thought to cut a dress and make it into a top. Normally I cut the top off and make it into a skirt (minus when its too short).
