Ah, end of semester procrastination. I should have been doing a bunch of other things the other morning, but instead I thought, "I think I'll make a scarf with that old shirt." So I did.
It was really easy. I used an old long sleeved t-shirt of my mom's, and cut off the bottom and made a tube. That's all the scarf is. I used one of the sleeves to make the flower, and just pinned it on. I didn't take a before pic, but here's the shirt with the pieces cut off.
And a close up of the finished scarf, which took just minutes to make.
Super quick projects that keep me from finishing homework and Christmas gifts? Yes, please.
Wow, that's amazing. I'm going to have to try it!

ReplyDeleteI realize this is an older post, but just found it today and would love to duplicate it! One question though - how did you do the flower exactly? It's beeeautiful but I'm just not sure how to get mine to look as gorgeous as yours!?!! Could you please give us a play-by-play on making it??? Pretty please???!!! I'd really appreciate a response! Thanks sooo much!!!
ReplyDeleteHi Jennifer,
DeleteSorry the subscribe button's not working- I'll have to look in to that. It's been a while since I made this, but all I did was take the sleeve and slowly turn it inside out, letting it bunch up while I did it. I pulled and pushed at the bulges in the fabric until it looked the way I wanted. Sorry that's not very descriptive- it was mostly trial and error!
Thanks for your comment!
By the way, the button for subscribing to post comments isn't working =(
ReplyDeleteI think you have to be logged in with an email address to subscribe to post comments...I was just able to do so without a problem. I see you just commented with a name and without a reply option- that could be why.
